Teacher Bio: Colleen Meenan TCRGColleen Meenan, TCRG, discovered her passion for Irish Step Dancing under the instruction of Mary Lou Schade and Rosemary Schade Cromie at the Schade Academy. Born on Long Island, New York, she began dancing at the age of 5 and progressed competitively until retiring in 2017 at the World Championships. During her competitive career, Colleen ranked top three regionally, top ten nationally along with multiple world recalls. Colleen also had a deep admiration for ceili dancing. The Schade Academy boasts multiple ceili and figure championship titles. Colleen combined her love of Irish dancing and its competitive nature into a successful track and field career. She attended Marist College on a Division 1 track scholarship, while still competitively dancing. After passing her exam in 2017, Colleen moved to Long Island City working as a Talent Manager for various modeling agencies in New York City. Colleen joined Niall O’Leary’s teaching staff in 2021 and aspires to instill her same admiration for Irish Dance and the Irish culture to all of its students. |
