Whether you are picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to refine your session style, Niall O’Leary provides hands-on instruction in the essential sounds of Irish tradition. Explore the melodic drive and ornamentation of the accordion, the rhythmic “lift” and harmonic foundations of keyboard accompaniment, or the steady, pulsing heartbeat of the bodhrán drum. For those looking for unique percussion, Niall also teaches the specialized grips and rapid-fire roll techniques of the musical spoons. These lessons focus on the technical precision and traditional feel needed to have a part in Irish music sessions. All ages and experience levels welcome!
