Teacher Bio: Rosemary Cooper TCRG

rosemary-cooperRosemary Cooper TCRG, known to most as Rosie, has danced unceasingly since the age of three years old. Born in Dallas, Texas, she began Irish dancing there at the age of seven and quickly excelled through the local and regional competitive ranks in feiseanna. Rosemary moved to New York City at the age of 13 to continue her competitive career with the Niall O’Leary School of Dance and achieved rankings as high as 11th place at the Southern Region Oireachtas. She has placed on numerous occasions on the national and world levels as well. She is a longtime member of the Niall O’Leary Irish Dance Troupe and has performed upon pre-eminent New York City stages and locations abroad.

Additionally, Rosemary had the honor of being chosen for the original cast of Rhythm in the Night Irish Dance Spectacular. Concurrent to her Irish dancing, Rosemary has won the Mid-Atlantic Senior Piano Accordion Championship at the New York Fleadh, qualifying five years in a row for the All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil under the tutelage of Niall. Beyond Irish dance, Rosemary is highly involved in modern dance in New York City and is the current Assistant Director of the Isadora Duncan International Institute Dancers where she performs as a soloist nationally and internationally.
