Teacher Bio: Monica Sosa

Monica Sosa began dancing Classical Ballet at the age of five. In 1999 she graduated as a professional Ballet dancer with the Royal Academy of Dance. In 2000 and 2001 she was part of the Swan Lake cast with the National Dance Company of Ballet in Mexico City. Then, in 2003 she got her master’s degree as a Ballet teacher.

She first began Irish dancing in March 2003. Soon, she began to compete at feisanna across the USA and in Mexico City, winning several medals. In 2005 she opened up her Irish Dance School in Cuernavaca as part of Alicia Mosti’s School. Later, in 2010 she taught with the Inishfree School of Irish Dance and in September 2016 she started teaching for the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance.

Monica has taught students who have reached the top 40 at the World Irish Dancing Championships and the North American Irish Dancing Championships.
