Teacher Bio: Jesse Gilday

jesse-gildayJesse Gilday has been a dancer and teacher with the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance for about 9 years. Previously, he danced with the Boland School in Albany NY. A graduate of NYU, having studied a masters degree in music, specializing in the clarinet, he is an excellent dancer and teacher.

He has competed in the Regional, North American and World Irish Dance Championships on many occasions. He was a lead dancer in the team from the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance that placed 10th in the Dance Drama Championship at the World Championships in 2013. He also represented the school in the senior mens’ solo World Championship competition in Glasgow in March 2016. He has taught alongside Niall O’Leary in the beginner / intermediate children’s class in Long Island City in Queens, and at various locations around New York City, and has proved to be a very authoritative, meticulous, and caring teacher, and is wonderful at passing on his mastery of technique, and his love of dance to younger dancers.

He is always encouraging and willing to help other dancers in any situation. After assisting with classes in New York City for four years, he relocated to Miami, Florida where he continues to successfully impart the latest techniques and style of the Niall O’Leary School of Irish Dance.
